We think the best hotel is really important to enjoy a city, and we want you to love our home city of Chiang Mai. Our Best Hotel Checklist was: 1) great style and beautiful architecture; 2) a cool pool to swim and lounge around; 3) a central Old City location; 4) delicious breakfast for two included; and 5) a good price. Our 2023 three top choices meet all that and more. Let us show you around and check out the grounds, the pool, the rooms, the restaurant and show you the food.
We will even give you specific room rates for the high season (we choose December 15-17, 2023, a weekend – as this is the prime of the Chiang Mai winter and when most people want to come). And also for the low season (we choose May 22-24, 2024, which is midweek, at the start of the rainy season – actually a good time to come as summer is just ending). We also show you how we found the best rates for each hotel. A tip is to reserve your room as far in advance as possible, preferably at least 2 months, to get the best rates. Thanks for your videos, I rencently travel to Thailand and really liked Chiang Mai. Spent 3 nights at the movenpick and found it a terrific deal. Food was good, pool was good service was also good. All for $40/night. Unbelievable,

I'll be there on the 17th for 3 weeks. Staying at a place that's still pretty unique but a fraction of the cost. 17 bucks a night and during the high season 19 bucks. SK House I, I believe in the northeast corner of Old Town. Can't wait!

Now I have to go back to Chiang Mai and test these hotels, especially the first one. Last time, I stayed in two really different hotels, one very modern – BED Chiang Mai Gate – with an excellent breakfast and just near the Chiang Mai gate night market, the second one, very beautiful hotel – Amata Lanna – all in teak wood. Both were good experience, but I love being just near a street food market, that's how I feel the most that I'm in Thailand.

Timely video as we are making plans for Chiang Mai for Songkran. My only visit to Chiang Mai was also for Chiang Mai in 2018 and stayed at a Airbnb on Ninman. We're are looking for a boutique experience in the old city.

I really enjoyed the Terra Cota Arts Hotel when I was there. I don't remember having breakfast there. I always seem to fill up on street food at night and sleep in. I can't wait to get back to CM around Christmas.
Last time I visited Chiang Mai I stayed in a real budget hotel. It suited me at the time and they did a good job, but I see I need to raise my game a bit! Thanks for the peak inside some great places! Next time I visit, I'll book one of these places!
