I Went Solo… But Chiang Mai Had Other Plans | The Thailand Solo Travel Chapters

I spontaneously booked a solo trip to Thailand about a year ago, and I fear it was the best decision ever! Solo travel with me on a 3-week journey through Thailand. Our second stop? Chiang Mai. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting this leg of the journey to go the way it did.

Itinerary:
00:00 Day 1: Welcome to Chiang Mai + Dinner + Thai Massage
07:19 Day 2: Sticky Waterfall + New Friends + Muay Thai Fight
19:05 Day 3: Cooking Class + New Friends Dinner
33:25 Day 4: Art Village + Dessert Tour

  1. ~10 mins in but just want to say thanks so much for posting this! Going on a group trip soon but there are some things I wanted to do which the group doesn’t and I was a little nervous I wouldn’t be able to feel comfortable doing them solo as a black woman outside my usual environment. This is helping ease my nerves and think of all the fun I could have!

  2. Young lady. Put on a little lacy bralette or lacy tank under that shirt. You are very pretty and articulate. You don't have to go that far.

  3. I went to Chiang Mai recently and literally loveeedddd this city!! I did the most beautiful hike ever and saw some amazing waterfalls. I believe the name of the park we went to was the Doi Ithanon. We were so lucky because we had clear weather and most people don’t even get to experience the views like we did! But the highlight for me had to be the food here! The northern Thai folk know what they doing! Loveddd your vlog and seeing the city through your pov❤

  4. Well as a black woman, you will stand out. I am in Chiang Mai now,w but there are other black people here, single black woman will clearly stand out. Try not to travel alone.

  5. Now I have to go see Chiang Mai 😍 I'm landing in Phuket next week – then heading to Bangkok a few weeks later… Chiang Mai might be a last -minute addition. Love your content

  6. Bangkok definitely requires at least 7 days…there's so much to do and see. But Chiang Mai has my heart. It's the perfect place to visit for a slower pace.
