Chiang Mai’s red-light street is nothing like Pattaya, Bangkok, or anywhere else in Thailand. As someone who actually owns a bar on Loi Kroh Road, I’ve seen how different this area really is, the crowds, the energy, the rules, and the culture.
In this video I walk you through Chiang Mai’s nightlife and explain what makes this street unique. From temples and cafés mixed with bars, to families and backpackers walking past guys sitting with girls, to the zoning laws that keep the area small and calm, this is a very different experience from the big nightlife cities down south.
If you’re planning to visit Chiang Mai, or you’re just curious about what the red-light district is really like behind the scenes, this video will give you an honest and realistic look at how it all works here. And yes, we end the night at my bar so you can see it for yourself.

You seem like a great guy with some wonderful knowledge of your area there in Chaing Mai…. however just being realistic no one i travel with comes to Thailand for the relaxation, tourist things to do, or places to eat/see! We come for the mens playground in Pattaya of getting away from the western whales that appreciate nothing and expect everything! We look to become a few week millionares and play like we are the most wanted guy on earth! Its a cheap fun thrill to do what men do best! Talk too, view, and rent ladies the whole time you are there without a care in the world!. Pattaya is changing quickly…. as leaders want to make it more family friendly it will lose the playground ombiance it once had…. hopefully your video will reach the families and keep them out of our little piece of paradise! Just a honest dude spitting facts… much respect

I was there in June and the place looked dead, empty bars with very few tourists and girls. One of the bars that did have about 10 girls sitting outside i could easily walk by undetected because they were all watching their phones. Chiangmai is a place to relax but the nightlife sucks

My wife and I spent a few weeks in Pattaya last year and loved it there. You can tell the city officials working to clean it up. The red light district was there but easy to avoid. Looking forward to making it to Chiang Mai in the future.

I think you're spot-on. Chiang Mai is has a more relaxed vibe, and the narrow streets of old town are lovely for walking, meeting friends etc. It is of course a bit touristy – but nothing approchaing the chaos of some areas in Bangkok. The people are largely respectful and kind. Just a respectful, relaxing time all around. And the red-light area – though much smaller than in some other cities – is fully equipped to provide a great time, if that's your thing. I know your bar, and have patronized it several times 🙂
I don't drink alcohol or go to bars. But, I do like to train muay thai. Long way to drive from Pattaya..
