Chiang Mai Nightlife Tour | Northern Thailand 2026

Chiang Mai Nightlife Walk 2026: LoI Kroh Road & Downtown Tour
Join me for an updated nighttime walking tour through downtown Chiang Mai as we explore the surprisingly quiet nightlife scene in May 2026!

From the iconic Night Bazaar to the famous Loy Kroh Road, I’m taking you on a stroll right through the heart of the city. We check out the local bar scene—including the boxing bars, Honey Bar, and the Red Lion—and reflect on how much this amazing Thai city has changed over the years. While it’s currently the quietest I’ve seen it in a long time, you’ll still find that classic, laid-back Chiang Mai charm, awesome street vendors, and friendly locals.

What to Expect in This Vlog:

🚶‍♂️ Downtown Exploring: Walking Loy Kroh Road & the historic moat.

🥊 Nightlife Update: Checking out local pubs, boxing bars, & street markets.

🇹🇭 Travel Vibe: An honest look at the tourist atmosphere in May 2026.

  1. Wow that first minute in the market really did take me back to your Covid era videos man, no tourists.
Always interesting the odd nightlife vid here & there, has us wondering if someone will kickoff when seeing the camera – like the infamous Vlogging a dead horse fight in Pattaya 😜👍😎

  2. That's where I was staying, the Duangtawan Hotel. Anusarn market was my favourite, the food court was awesome, although there are several markets within close proximity to Loh Kroh. Some of the best food I had on my last trip. I spent a few nights in that Bar Complex, it was dead quiet, lets just say I was very popular!!

I found a really cool bar to watch the footy in the old town, I think it was called 48 Garage, really cool, chilled bar, and the food was pretty good too. I came across it after checking out the Sunday Night Market. I got a little fed up with it, tbh, it was just so busy, so I just cut out and happened across it on the way out.

I popped in that Honey House, too, that was pretty chilled too. I went in the Red Lion too, food was good and the people were really cool, drinks were pretty reasonable, too. if you're looking for a roast, they do a Sunday Roast Buffet in the Gecko Garden near Pantip Plaza. I planned to go there, but I didn't make it, unfortunately.

Only got back home yesterday, and I'm already missing it!! Great Vlog!

  3. Interesting how even there many don’t like a camera, same same, but the bar areas look good, maybe worth a visit when or indeed if i come back November time you can show me around 🤔

  4. I visited last November, will be back this coming November for a couple weeks. I love Chiang Mai; great Thai food and great, friendly people. The live music bars are loads of fun with the Thai people ! Thanks for sharing !

  5. It is sad that Chinag Mai always had been define as temple city and boring , no night life. So party boy never consider Chiang Mai, but base on my 3 times experience and research on Chiang Mai, that is very fun and low price, no pushy lady drink and you can have happy ending as well.

  6. Very good night wander mate , I’m surprised how quiet it was – it’s quiet in HH , but I don’t go near any bar or nightlife areas to give a better idea – Enjoyed this one – Thanks WW ✌️👍😎🙏

  7. People happy the place is quiet? This is not good, people are struggling. When I lived there I didn’t mind when it was busy with Farang because I only lived, shopped, ate and socialised with the locals. All the years I spent there I only drank on the Loi Kroh road about 5 times.

On a lighter note, have you noticed how all the bars now have LED Lights and neon lights? All the bars with the Christmas tree lights are gone, I think there is a lot of charm lost in that

  8. The Red Lion for when I need a taste of home – Thatchers Cider (I was born close to where they are based) and it's a good place to watch the world go by. Hopefully we will be in CM for 3-4 weeks in August.

  9. Things will bounce back over there in the next 6-12 months. The Orange Turd will TACO out of Iran soon and claim victory because he needs to go commit crimes in Cuba. I’ll be visiting Chiang Mai in mid November; looking forward to experiencing it.
