Let her talk more. lol
Thank you. Ok, Chiang Mai 6 months and Hua Hin 6 months. It might be easier to rent in 6 months term.
You look like a very happy coup!e. So happy you are having a great life together. 😇
I live like a hermit in Bangkok. I live next to homeless Thai men that sleep on the back streets o f 7 -11 store. I see the empty bottles of booze every morning the men wake up the only intent to ask me for dope money to buy booze or cannabis . This is the life style I wish the tubers would show the hardships of us living here.
Is it only for older men or are older single women also welcome in Hui hin?
When your Thai wife corrects your Thai speech, just say thank you. She obviously knows the language better than you do so be thankful for the free lesson. It's important to respect their language and try to speak it correctly, especially since you have a platform that people turn to for info about Thailand.
For me Chang Mai would be a nice place to vist but having grown up on an island I'd have live someplace in proximity to the beach I think the islands Phuket or Koh Samui would be my top choices. Hua Hin is a nice community with a lower cost of living but I think I'd prefer to live some place where the water is really clear and turquoise. I assume that the water in Phuket and Koh Samui are much clearer than Hua Hin's water?
How would you compare the ocean water in Koh Samui vs Phuket in terms of clarity. (e.g., same? or is one more clear/prettier than the other).
Great video.
A great Quickie rundown. Well done ! Glad you didn't talk up Hua Hin too much (my future home which is becoming too well known, but hearing a lot of Pattaya expats and moving there, with their attitudes😮)😊
Great that you can fly there from chaing mai too.
Great video, and I enjoy all your material, always informative and positive. In terms of this video, I have some positive comments to add for Bangkok and Pattaya.
Bangkok is a big city, but transportation is super easy with skytrain & subway plus motorcycle taxis. And there are so many interesting and authentic pockets scattered throughout the city, it’s easy to escape the madness of the concrete jungle. Oh, and you can do everything, find anything, there.
Pattaya is a bit trashy in parts, and totally earns its scandalous reputation, but I honestly find that aspect colorful and entertaining. Beyond that, though, the city has lots going for it. Easy to get around using the baht bus system, lots of good Thai food (upscale and street) and western options. Lots of services. Easy to meet people because it’s a smaller community. Live music, and great clubs for dancing. Quieter, calmer areas (Jomtien & Pratumnak) with good beaches are a 10 minute motorcycle taxi ride away. Koh Larn is a decent island just a ferry boat ride away. One other advantage of Pattaya is it’s convenient location … 90 minutes away from Bangkok (for quick trips to enjoy the city or access the airports), and 90 minutes from Koh Samet (a favourite Thai islands).
I loved Chiang Mai the times I’ve visited, and would spend more time there if not for the burning season.
Really Enjoyed this video 🙏. Deff agree with you , we moved to chiang mai 4 mths ago and really love it here . There is so much to do and every thing is so close to get to . 🙏
I love Thailand. I have been to Bangkok and Pattaya. I love them both. The best Thai food I have ever had has been in Pattaya. You can also take a very inexpensive ferry ride to Koh Larn and experience their absolutely gorgeous beaches.
Next year, I plan to visit Hua Hin as well.
I think you may have convinced me to give Chang Mai a try. I prefer not to deal with the poor air quality, so would early January be ok? I would guess it would not rain much in early January there either?
And just one last thing, is it very rainy in Chang Mai in May or October?
Sorry for so many questions. I just try to pick the more optimal weather months when I travel.
Thank you for another great and informative video.
Great question — each of those cities offers such a different kind of retirement life. Bangkok’s vibrant, Chiang Mai’s peaceful, Hua Hin’s balanced, and Samui’s pure island bliss.
If you had to pick just one, would you go for city convenience or the calm of the coast?
Thumbs up 👍 Randy & Joy……we’ve been here in Phuket since 2017 and seen the island 🏝️ grow, a little bit more crowded and traffic but hey our condo we purchased has increased in value as we are in Surin Beach 🏖️ and we are no hurry to go anywhere 😎
"but if I wasn't Thai'd here.." That's how I read it in my head at least.😄 As usual, nice video!
Hi Randy, Thank you for the video. When you get married on Thai girl, is it possible to get Thai citizenship?
Good review! Most of the expats I know in BKK don't drive, unless to leave for a trip. Cars are for leaving the city, not for daily transport. You can get anywhere with the BTS/MRT and the occasional cab from BTS to your final destination. I love transportation here! I'd love to live in Phuket, but too many tourists. Prefer Chiang Rai to Mai for the same reason. If TH didn't have BKK, I'm not sure I would stay in TH. Live away from ASOK tourist area in BKK and life is great!
Pattaya is my favorite city. People are educated & friendly, nice beach weather and great place to raise families! Many people come to Pattaya to study Buddhism.
I'm currently living in Hua Hin, so I might be bias, but this the best place to live. But anywhere in Thailand will be beautiful. Great way of life
Thank you for the great video. I will be visiting soon and am going to take Randy’s advice and stay for a month in each city.
