  1. Where was it you saw that big a** snake last year in the park by the trash skid? Was that at that closed out park or something different? Didn't that come about because it was washed down the river? I only mention it because, aside from the obv heavy current, seems risky to be wading in that water under the bridge like that guy was. Heaven knows what'll come up and kiss your ankles.

  2. Last years was certainly the worst I've seen in my 19 years of living here. Around 2014 was bad and before that around 2004 when I was here on Hols.
But last year was way the worse for sure. I saw water on Loi Kroh about 20 metres from the moat…..Loi Kroh does rise a bit there at the last bit but still, another metre or so and that would be the whole old city gone as it's all flat from there.
I've never seen flooding this time of year before. Scary stuff for those folks in the zone.

  3. In 2017 I don't remember heavy rains. Got around ok. But one time a Thai lady that I didn't know lent me a umbrella during a storm. I returned it later. Thais are nice.

  4. Thank you for the info and for sharing. My wife and I are planning a 3-week trip to Thailand in November and then, will move to Chiang Mai on the outskirts early next year. We can hardly wait ! Very excited.

  5. What can I do without your deep insights to Chiang Mai …. Thanks Wayne , hope to meet you one day in CNX .
Getting homesick after just few weeks away from CNX to Switzerland.

  6. Hi.. i am planning to travel chiang mai on june 15th . As I travelling for the first time .. and hard some news about flooding.. can you please tell me is it safe to visit there now?

Also My main interest is to doing hikes in national parks like doi inthanon or doi suthup. Is it safe now to go there? Or national parks are open now?

  7. Thanks, mate! Updates are super useful! In my case, while I'm definitely coming in November, am also hoping to pop over for a few weeks later this month. Depends on the timing of work and I'm also waiting on a substantial payment from the government. Dunno what it's like in the UK, but here in Australia, when you owe them money, they want it quick and bother you but when they owe you money they send an email saying 'we don't know when we'll pay it, don't phone or email us' ๐Ÿ˜‰

  8. Hopefully there won't be any serious flood in Thailand this year. Fingers crossed๐ŸคžI noticed how fruit prices are so cheap this year. Love it!

  9. That for the update Wayne. Should be fine as we are getting good spells of sunshine. But something of concern as we all got a msg on our phones today.. earthquake alert of 4.5 in Mae pang area
    Keep em coming ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

  10. The weather changes quickly but you can only show us how it is now , hopefully it stays away – Cheers Bobby D ๐Ÿ‘โœ”๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ™

  11. The river floods last year arrived in October. That is the time to look for news. Chiang Mai is going to have rain every day but localised. Itโ€™s okay to visit๐Ÿ˜Š. It didnโ€™t rain during the October floods. I appreciate your good work sir ๐Ÿ˜Š

  12. If I had a flood phobia, I wouldn't come the last 2 weeks of August, first 2 of September. 25 years coming here and that seems to be the sweet spot for flooding.

  13. Doesn't look too bad – I will come look tomorrow – – helmets are a great idea, so good that passengers should wear them too…

  14. NICE; been to that park, weir many times. Always on the look out for passing bikes while on that walkway. Already a massive flood where we are between Mae Wang and Nam Bo Luang. There's sure to be more.

  15. Great video, Wayne! Thanks for filming in Waororot Market as that's MY neighborhood when I'm in my Second Home! The Ping IS a bit high but not too bad. Best wishes to you from Cape Cod! ๐Ÿ™‚
