I'm sorry to hear you were injured. The area you are exploring is often overlooked because it isn't part of the very popular Mae Hong Son loop. I live NE of Chiang Rai and sometimes take that longer but more scenic route to Chiang Mai.

What a great inspiration for my next trip to Thailand. Last time the furthest north I got was Pai, the ride was beautiful, but indeed covered by trees.
Seeing you ride further north alone is giving me confidence that I could make it by myself as well.
