Severe flooding has hit districts in the north of Thailand, including Chiang Mai. We check out the current situation and warnings about some more rain heading in the direction of northern Thailand, perhaps over the latter part of the weekend or into early next week.

Who said karma isn't real? Just look at Thailand. For all of the problems that they caused with Cambodia, karma wasted no time and caught up with them quickly. It couldn't have been a coincidence. Should we celebrate, laugh, or cry for Thailand? What do you think?
Unfortunately there was also several elephants drowned, in the sanctuary outside of Chiang Mai.
I pray with the Khmer. This what you call karma. God will bring disaster
Who cares
Thumbs up 👍 Newton
Who knew a simple news video about rain could bring out the crazies in the comments. Is it tinfoil hat season ?
Dengue fever heaven.
It’s the results of too much bad karma going on in Thailand. Bad karmas attract disaster. Hope good people are safe.
Thanks Tim for the update
Thailand is preparing hundreds of septic trucks to spray liquid waste on Cambodian civilians who are trying to protect their homes and land from the invasion of Thai militaries.
Thanks Tim.
Drove over the Nan river at Phichit earlier today, was bloody high and couldn't be too far from breaching, fair bit of water in the upper catchment heading down.
Hey Tim ! One thing is for sure I would never move up North ! They got 3 beautiful sunny and cool months (Dec/Jan/Feb) then 3 months bad pollution and the remainder too much rain ! Happy to live in Hua Hin with the best climate in Thailand !
Not seeing anything important here in Northern Thailand. It just rains every day which it has been doing for the last couple of months. I hope you can find some real news soon.
There is also serious typhoon in Vietnam, Unfortunately. Hopefully, this will bring temporally peace to Cambodia. Cambodia is facing aggression from both Vietnam and Thailand. Both Vietnam and Thailand have violated Cambodia Parris Peace Accord of 1991. The Hun Sen forty plus years dictatorship have not bring peace to Cambodia, to be fair.
Hurrican Kajiki makes harakiri
In Chiang Mai and traveling to another hotel, INSANE! RIP.
I am just outside udon Woop Woop as you call it had rain but nothing too bad
It should be mentioned that in stories like this, when they mention "Chiang Mai" they are mostly referring to the province versus the city of Chiang Mai. The mountain regions and the flood zones along rivers where many of these videos and new reports are coming from are usually far from the city's urban areas. Granted, last October saw the city of Chiang Mai underwater (historic flood). Beyond some street flooding, the city handles large rain falls pretty well.
I live just NE from Chiang Rai city and we've had very little rain at all, much less than the yearly average.
Tim, I would like to propose a theory: The flooding is a direct result of the TDAC, instituted by the inept, lazy, incompetent, corrupt Thai government, that same government wishing to run farangs out of the country and keep them out. Am I right? Am I right?
Man, flooding sure is bad this year. I got stuck on a coach between Chiang Rai and Mai last October due to flooding. And Sichuan, especially Chengdu got washed away. Really bad, hope everyone in harm's way will be safe.
Not 1 dead but 5 in Mae Cham, CMNX
Looks like Thailand has had it worse than Vietnam.
Thanks for keeping up on Thai things.
Thai foon season? 😉
Thanks for the update Tim!
Hope goes out to everyone 🙏 thanks for the updates tim
Yes, I live in Chiangmai / Doi Saket. The rain hit so hard the other night it sounded like our house was under a waterfall. I also head some of the longest rolling thunder I've ever heard in my life! Luckily we live far enough outside of Old City that our Moo Baun doesn't flood like that, plus we are built on old rice fields so we have water channels throughout our entire neighborhood to channel the water away from the houses.
Good….
Daisy seems totally exhausted from all her editorial work, perhaps she needs a pay rise Tim? 😂
All the water that was sucked from the Pacific Ocean is getting dumped.
Thank you so much for the weather update, etc.
