  1. Great video Chris, on minimalist lifestyle and health! Admitting one of your vices ( we all have many). Question, I like quality items, how long have you been wearing the shorts you had repaired? That would determine if I would purchase the same shorts for travel. Thanks, Jersey Mike. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโ˜˜๏ธ๐Ÿฆ…

I loved Chang Mai several years ago with my family. Been back to the land of smiles twice recently. The last time for R&R in Hua Hin (love it for a 68 year old). Had extensive dental work done at Bangkok International Dental Clinic for 1/3 the cost in NJ! The care and work of the dentist and staff was better than any dentist I have had my whole life in NJ. Oral health is important for long term health as well.

Keep up the great work you do for everyone watching.

  2. I think dudes go to Thailand because they have no game or confidence. Hell, one canโ€™t even communicate with the women unless Thai is your second language. Total insanity!

  3. My Great-Grandfather came to US from Italy as a shoe cobbler. Making a living fixing shoes instead of tossing them out & buying a new pair from Chiba. I remember fixing a toaster years ago with my Father. You are correct. We discard far too much.

  4. I've been following you since the beginning of the year and noticed a couple of tell tale signs about your relationship with alcohol. Chris you are very brave to speak out about this on your channel. I can relate to seeing a bottle I finish a bottle. I just hope you weren't seeing a bottle of liquor like Mekong whiskey. A good red wine is another story. Anyway, good luck in your journey. I enjoy the videos and much more so recently seeing you go out at night to jazz clubs etc. They are very entertaining.

  5. Hi Chris. I always enjoy your videos, kept it up !!
Suggestion: take a look at Youtube videos about 'Slow jogging' . I've added it to my regular walks in the last month and I'm already
seeing results (i.e. calf and leg muscles toneness and core strength).
Let us know if what you think and if you try it.
    Cheers from Quebec

  6. Many cancers could have been cured decades ago. There is less money in cures compared to treatments to barely keep you alive. They will never release cures for cancer and if they do only the rich will be able to afford it. Both my parents died from cancer. Nothing will ever change. Not even a chance.

  7. Great talk Chris. Some of the non-alcoholic beer is top notch. Once a week I drink a single pint of high quality craft beer and glass of craft non alcoholic beer. Lowers my alcohol intake and I donโ€™t feel that beer โ€œbloatโ€ after.

  8. Chris- how did the Earthquakes in that region affect you!? I don't recall you updating on us on your situation? Where were you when the earthquake happen? Did you feel the quake? What are you doing in the future to stay safe!? Thanks again – big fan!

  9. We live in the world where we like to impress others with deprecating asset that often purchased with borrowed money. Stress related to finances because of that won't make many live long enough. When we get to the point where the less f### we give what other thing the happier and less stressed we will be. Highly likely live longer as a result. Not many get there unfortunately at all the advertising we see everywhere make us want to keep up with trends and neighbours. Lifestyle inflation to keep up with others is a financial killer.

  10. Good for you for recognizing that your alcohol consumption was beginning to be a problem. I too have an addictive personality and I know myself well enough now that even 1 drink is too many (because it's never just 1 drink), which is why I quit 5 years ago and never looked back. Moderation didn't work for me because once the booze is in me, I can't stop. If you see this in yourself as well (and it appears you do) then maybe it's time to take a break, especially if you want to live a long and fulfilling life! Anyway, keep up the great work and keep the vids coming, good sir. Cheers!

  11. You will live to 130 in Chiang Mai Thailand? The pollution is not really great if you hope to live a long life. Additionally, 40 degree heat is probably not great for a 100+ year old

  12. I am now Iโ€™m the process of getting my thai elite visa planning to move this year, but I have things to wrap up here not as simple as it was in my 20s where I could just pack a bag and hop on a plane.

Refinanced my home took out equity.

Got the movers coming next week to give me a quote.

Was on the phone with fazwaz learning about renting a home.

Got a quote to move my 3 pets, not giving them up they are family.

Setting up a meeting with an international accountant so I can exit my home tax system and be compliant.

Meeting with my health provider to see if I can continue my treatment in Thailand.

Getting my home ready to sell.

Cleaning my home out and getting rid of the junk.

Planning to be there by Christmas and ring in the new year on a rooftop bar.

Here in Australia it would cost you more to repair than to buy new shorts.

  13. Brilliant, positive and sound advise. Repairs are doable and cheap in Asia, not in the west. Appreciate you sharing the way you live, travel and you sharing about your alcohol consumption for better health. Optimistic re "us" people living to 120 or 130 years of age, a little too much of a Sales pitch for me to sallow, hey but if you get there gang busters. I'll shout ya a Coke zero when I bump into you Kind Sir. Again thank you for making the videos and showing people the world of travel is doable in retirement and there is other ways to live.

  14. I agree with your philosophy of less is more and to repair rather than throw away. I'm happy you're able to control your alcohol intake. I'm lucky as I don't drink at all, but I sure do eat lots haha!

  15. Chris, People are outliving their money in their 30s, imagine how many more homeless people there will be if the average life expectancy was 130? ๐Ÿ˜‚

  16. In Asia, there are still tailors that repair clothes, cobblesmiths to fix shoes, or a handyman to repair small household appliances. Good luck trying to find any of these professionals in the States. Repairing oneself really resonated with me. Appreciate the vlog. Safe travels. Mahalo.
