  1. Hey, I’ve been living in Chiang Mai the past 6 yrs… It is now under invasion from CHINESE. They are buying up whole condo buildings and only renting out to fellow Chinese. They are buying up commercial buildings, arable land, businesses, you name it. The local Thais are getting VERY PEED OFF as the 🇨🇳 are diluting and destroying the chill charm of CM. The police just busted a HUGE SCAM CALL CENTRE here and yep, CHINESE. They are rude, loud and have no concern whatsoever about the customs and ways of Thailand….. do your own research, check out this recent article from Benarnews, “As Chinese buyers snap up Chiang Mai properties, Thais fear for future” and also “EXPLAINED: Why Thai analysts are wary of China’s rising influence”” … These articles are a MUST READ for those interested in the changing face of Thailand. I first came to CM in 1980 and lived here many times over the years, but because of the WORLDWIDE INVASION of Chinese, I’m looking for somewhere else to spend my remaining years, far far away from the toxic reds. Galápagos Islands maybe, Alaska, Greenland……. ????? Just kidding, but seriously, everywhere they go they DESTROY IT. Think Laos, Cambodia, Pacific Islands, South Africa to name a few. Even Australia is now under seige with Chinese…. Brrr hurrumph, SIGH………. Think carefully about retiring in CM and Thailand in general. It AINT what it used to be, and geo-politically it’s NOT LOOKING GOOD……

  2. I'm looking to move to Chang Phueak within the next month or so, I'm 19 and will be working a remote job from the US. Do you have any tips or things I should know? Or where I should go to meet friends knowing I'll be moving there with my cat and I!!

  3. Life in Chiang Mai- i have lived here year round for 10 years and I have to say that I now appreciate the laws America has on pollution and wildlife. Not here in Thailand. People in North Thailand are really great, easy to eat healthy. Very safe

  4. I have been go to Chiang Mai for 20 years for the winters. The air quality index gets into the Unhealthy area for sensitive people beginning in December. I wake up, and I can feel that my lungs are irritated so I’m no longer going to Chiang Mai. Too many areas in Mexico and Central and South America with pleasant weather and great air quality with favorable dollar exchange rates. Too bad because I loved my life in Chiang Mai.

  5. I will move my family of four to Chiang Mai at the end of this week (from Los Angeles). I would say your advice is pretty well grounded and consistent with my experience during past look see visits to CM. I will use 66property as my agent. From my research, they specialize in home rentals and sales and have the most properties on their website compared to others. Perfect
Homes seems to be good for condos. Thanks for sharing BTW.

Have you compared using a fintech such as Wise or Revolut to transfer and exchange your dollars into THB? From what I can tell it’s the cheapest option although I have not looked at Schwab’s spot rates compared to Wise. Any thoughts you can share on Schwab and comparisons to other FX solutions? This would be helpful to me as I have a Schwab investment account, but have used their banking side yet.

  6. I'd love to move there long-term! but concerned as a single person with little family in the city that maybe I won't have that support network~ Curious how ya'll adjust in this area?

  7. Thanks for this very helpful information.

Wondering if there are many choices for renting a condo? And are there choices at lots of price points, especially would an agent be interested in helping at lower prices? Possibly ideas for a future video, thanks

  8. Go to Da Nang during burning season. Rent your place on yearly lease during burning season though for best prices. Cheap enough to keep even if you're in Da Nang.
Awesome content, keep it coming 😊
