Great idea on doing occasional videos on new English breaky places.
I stayed there nearly 20 years ago. Back then it was a busy enough place but from memory the rooms look the same but 600bht you cant go wrong.
Interesting you doing a review on this hotel, I ear marked it for my next trip to Chiang Mai, as I walked past it when I went to check out the 2nd hand clothing shops, on my last visit. I think it would be okay for a few days, if you're doing something similar to yourself, but looking at the room, I think there are some better options for a similar price range. Nice review 😎

Room did the trick though, I struggle to find somewhere to pitch a tent without leccy for that price. 70 mins in and the England game sounds like a banger, enjoy 👍🏻
That is an absolute Bobby Dazzler, I could care less about the dirty canal next door, they don't make hotels that spacious anymore, I could also care less about the shower curtain, for that price, I could stay long term and go buy a new one. I will be watching England Croatia soon, Portugal playing now, Messi hat trick, saw that.

Appreciate your input. Already booked for Chiang Rai November,December,, then going to try DaNang for 90 days. Still liking Tbilisi, two months in.

My Thai friends came over to Los Angeles and we did a few road trips, the hotel / motel in the US aren't anything like in Thailand.
I remember staying in Arizona somewhere in a little town, the owner was an Indian and we were shocked how ran down our room was.
Filthy carpet, the door was half painted, but our beds were comfortable and the shower and toilet work.
I have stayed in hotel all over the world as a crew member with Delta air lines.
I say that place we stayed must have been one of the worst I have ever spent the night, and it was nearly $100
But when we did a road trip in Thailand, I was hoping to stay in a little motel that costs 600 baht and we actually did near Phuket airport.
I was pleasantly surprised that it was clean and every thing worked.
Personally, I would take any motel or hotel in Thailand over any small town hotel in the US.

Reminds me of another bargain hotel, PN Mountain Resort in Ao leuk, not far from Krabi. 450 baht with huge pool and stunning views of the mountain which is so close you'd think the hotel would be hit if there was an earthquake.
Last time I stayed there I am sure the pool was much smaller, practically unusable, do you know if that's a new pool or have I remembered wrongly? I often stay in its sister property closer to the moat, The Royal Paneri. Both have easy parking, good sized rooms, good staff and are in a good position
So no lady? But be honest at the end of the night you could of brought a lady back if you wanted?

Yes mate, put off by the mouldy shower curtain. Other than that looks decent value at 600 baht. Id' have called them in and shown them the mould, asked them to sort it and suggested they get their act together for their future clients. That's just me though 😂 At least the bed was soft and a decent nights kip was had and you had a good night out with a mate which is always good once in a while. A little bit of upkeep around the building would not go astray and as for the surrounding footpaths with cracked/ broken tiles here and there, well that's Thailand with very little in quality condition/poor workmanship but seen it all so not surprised, close enough is good enough lol so I'm used to seeing that I guess.
