Be the perfect place for a single retiree looking for peaceful location Wayne without much cleaning. Finding something new for 5k a month in Chiangmai nowadays is the needle in a haystack. I knew right away this wasn't your cup of tea…not that you're a procrastinator or anything like that lol. Let's face it mate, the perfect place is not going to be under 10k Baht in Hang Dong. Hi Wayne I commented from Da Nang that Chiang Mai is in the Golden era and now at the end of my Da Nang time i think next year I'll even stay in Chiang mai in the smokey season i need to go back home middle April anyways due to my job.
Yes Da Nang has the beach but basically i could not swim basically until now end of March due to bad weather red flags.Chiang Mai has a special energy and I'll take something with a pool that will solve the beach problem 😊
I'm off to Japan now i had to repurchase flight tickets from Quatar to Air China i hope i can get back home otherwise my 4 months stay has to extend 😂

Looking well and happy Wayne. It's the same here long Qs at gasoline stations. I have not or will Q just go off hours when people are working and no problem so far. Chiang Mai well with not many around the way I like it. But unfortunately the islands are full of people running form both wars .
Welcome home Wayne. My Filipina wife and I are headed back to Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai again in May for my birthday. We were there last year and loved it so much we're heading back to take in more of the sights we missed last year. I get loads of ideas from your vlogs. I use Google maps to explore for restaurants and just came upon one that may interest you if you've not been there just north of Old Town.Cheap and Cheerful 30baht Thai Food. All dishes are 30 baht with great reviews, cooked up by 2 Thai Aunties. Maybe you can give it a try if you've not been there and let us know. Cheers Mate.!

so if people crying I think is about the fly prices is crazy another factor is the flight time is much longer because they have to fly to another corridor. Ok.
Flight prices are currently experiencing significant surges, often described as "insane" or astronomical, due to a combination of high demand, rising fuel costs, and limited supply. International flights are seeing substantial increases, sometimes jumping hundreds of dollars, while domestic travel is also expensive, making early booking crucial.

I'll be back in Chiang Mai again on April 2nd. Just wondering what you think about how the fuel will be then. My wife is from Chiang Rai and we usually hang out a lot in Chiang Mai when we visit.
Hi Wayne, lots of queues for fuel in Sisaket city, a large Caltex station was rammed packed and yet a smaller station a few minutes away had nobody waiting and had all the fuel you could want. Knowing your location helps. Great vid and glad your home. Cheers
I live in Doi Saket … queued 30mins for a rationed BHT1,000 of diesel yesterday … need to do same again.

With diesel running out the food prices will def start increasing and will be less of it if it continues on much longer. Would hurt to stock up s little now just in case

I just spent 5 days in Bangkok, it was roasting down there, flying back to CM feels so much better, not just the temperature either, many bars were empty, except for bar girls, who all blamed the war for it. They are probably right, too. My visa extension is almost over now. 😪
What camera setup do you use? My daughter just said she would like some kind of setup for her birthday coming up in a few months. Would you recommend what you use or would suggest a different setup if you could start fresh with something new?
