Nobody Wants To Visit Chiang Mai Anymore… Here’s Why

Nobody Wants To Visit Chiang Mai Anymore… Here’s Why

Chiang Mai used to be the perfect city. The antidote to everything wrong with Thailand’s beach towns and Bangkok’s chaos.
A mountain city with culture, temples, nature, cool weather. Affordable, peaceful, authentic. Digital nomads called it paradise. Backpackers made it a must-visit. Retirees moved there for the quality of life. But something has changed lately.
Today I’m showing you what killed Chiang Mai. Why the digital nomads left. Why the quality of life disappeared. Why does nobody want to visit anymore?

  1. This about the smoke is eggagerated. Been here 9 years and the last 2 years have been way better than the past, but saying 3 months of smoke is ridiculous, never more than 4 – 6 weeks. It's true thatt it gets bad, but this account (smaelling like smoke after 5 mins) is over the top.

  2. Wrong film and compilation of this film in Chiang Mai with footage from Vietnam, India, and Bangkok. Why do people want to enrich themselves with downloaded film information😂😂😂😂😂😂🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭

  11. Im a Nomad living here. It always has been like that. Even worst im the past. So this Video is adressing it im an image damaging way. Once burning season is over you can still see alot of tourists coming and life for me and many other normads is great.

  12. As with all your other videos, this is complete BS.
I've been visiting Chinag Mai for 15 years, and many of those visits have been during the month of March, not once has the burning season been a cause for concern (it's barely noticeable most days), and if you've seen the footage from Songkran this year, it didn't appear to bother the locals or the tourists either did it..

I think what we have here is an old fart ex-pat creating scare stories because he's a bitter old man that hates the sight of young westerners..
One minute he telling us Chiang Mai is dead, then in next he's telling us areas are ruined because it's packed with tourists.
"Hotel, shopping centres going up everywhere you look…" Aye, sounds like it's dying 🙄

I do hope you don't live in Thailand or plan to visit in the future. You clearly don't appreciate the place and I doubt the natives would appreciate you.

  13. I tried to go up to Doy Suthep on a busy night n got stuck in the uphill traffic for more than 2 hours n decided to turn back without reaching the hilltop temple!

  14. Live in Chiangmai n you'll be dead soon, be broke sooner. Chiangmai is a money pit…I didn't lose it to a bar girl or reckless spending, i lost it to trying to doing business with Thais people.😮😮😮😮
