Chiang Mai New Years Eve: Almost Time For 2026!

Happy New Year’s Eve from Northern Thailand! 🇹🇭✨

It’s the final morning of 2025, and I’m taking you on a morning walking tour through the beautiful streets of Chiang Mai as the city prepares to ring in 2026.

In this video, we explore the atmosphere of the Chiang Mai Old City, visiting iconic spots like Tha Phae Gate and the Three Kings Monument to see the stages being built and the decorations for tonight’s massive countdown.

Whether you’re planning a trip to Northern Thailand or just want to see how the “Rose of the North” celebrates the New Year, this video gives you a first-hand look at the preparations, and the buzz in the air before the fireworks and lantern releases begin!

  1. Happy New Year to one and all! Thank you for the support during 2025. It's been a great ride with the channel. Have a great time dazzlers, see you in 2026. 🎉🍾

  2. I don't suppose you're about to grab a coffee or something tomorrow (Sunday) are you Wayne. No problem if not but thought I'd ask while I'm here

  3. Happy new year Wayne I hope it will be a successful one for you. Like you we stayed here and drank too much wine and watched the fireworks from our balcony my son went to a beach party with 15k plus people a nightmare in my eyes but he loved it.Chiang Mai is looking greratn.

  4. Happy New Year, Wayne! I did a similar routine as you for the festivities last night. I stayed home with a couple of beers and some Mickey D's and watched the Nimman fireworks from my condo. It was crazy crowded around my place at around 9pm, so it was an easy decision. Best for you in 2026!

  5. Sweet Mother Nature and Buttermilk Balls!!! Coming at you from Waynesville, NC, US. Happy New Year, Wayne. Appreciate you great content and editing during 2025, see you on the other side of 2026.

  6. Happy New Year Wayne have a good one, in late January to February do you get a good breeze of air during the day and night? As I am thinking of coming Chiang mai these times I can't be in humid condition with no air lol

  7. Got stopped at that police check many times over the three weeks we recently spent there. Always had my license and a helmet thankfully. Happy New Year Wayne! Look forward to your upcoming content.

  8. I had plenty of wild Pi Mai party's during my ten year stint in chiang Mai, several of them were in the village just behind the airport, we had a full barbecued cow every year, they only cost 5,000 BAHT for the full thing already split and spread out on to a big Bamboo frame type thing to cook it on, they probably cost a bit more these days as that was in 2004, the same year as the tsunami, hope you have a lovely countdown as they say there, all the best for the new year Wayne, Chok Dee, Edit- after watching the rest of the vlog and hearing Bob's your uncle and Fanny's your aunt, I was laughing a bit 😁 a good choice of words, Fanny's your aunt 😂😂😂 literally, just messing around Wayne, I'm starting to celebrate here in Blighty, up north in Hull, seriously though, all the best mate.

  9. 😂😂😂 oh mannn
