I came over for 2 months last September. I’m coming back for 6 months this September and then may stay longer the next time. Just working my way up to full time doing what you are doing.
Great…it would be nice if there is a summary of the cost listed all together..did I miss it somewhere.
Right now you can actually get a 10 yr CD yielding 5%, guaranteed, no risk, so that'd be better for people who don't like risks in the market.
How about tax?! If you invest 400k with 6% div (which is very generous), Don’t you still have to pay tax out of that 24k? And then from that you still have to pay health insurance… 24k maybe suffice for a single. Most people retire with their wife as well.
Lanna life 🇹🇭🪷
Looks a good way to retire! Do you live in that bed and breakfast ? I will try a condo I hope to retire too there for about 2000 a month 😊kind regards rene from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
I'm 31 and have $500k in my portfolio, I couldn't imagine being at retirement age and only having that much. So sad they don't teach financial education here in the states. They just want us working until we are dead in order to pay the most taxes. I really want to retire early in Thailand or Phillipines. It looks amazing there.
You are living life king size. You can easily bring your average to 1200 to 1500 USD.
I will be there in 3 years . I am self employ so I need to save up just enough to live there. I have some land in Lam-pang province so i should be good to go .😅
Let us know where are you at in 😢Chiangmai. Thank you
Great video. The financial illiteracy in the USA is staggering and very sad.
The stock market is unreliable. Today you're having the finest foods and traveling the world. Tomorrow, you're making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and wondering how to pay the rent. Treasuries and Muni's are a wiser option.
Hey man. I live in CM near Maya Mall. Dig your videos. Say, do u teach/mentor on how to invest? I’d be keen to learn.
LMK. It would be a great idea to setup a workshop here. There would be lots of interest.
I don't even have $400k in assets let alone seeing that much money in my entire life. Currently, I live in $2500/mo after tax and that takes care of rent/car insurance/storage/food. I have no spending money. I am sacrificeing myself by contributing 35% into retirement the past 26 yrs because I want to live well in Asia. I won't be able to do live like you here in the USA (California). You're giving me hope
I've enjoyed watching videos of you. Prices where you staying, food and daily life in Asia. I hope to not make any money as income in Asia but do some little of art work to exchange for food or something.
What is the name of the bed and breakfast?
Keep in mind 2k USD when converted to other currencies such as AUD means $3200 per month. Based on 4%, maybe 5% yield that’s well over 700k required to have invested 😢
the only thing i dislike about Thailand is everything is so sweet
I plan to retire in Chiang Mai Thailand nice weather in there. A $2000 a month income should survive in there month by month.
Plz let me know how to stay in Thailand long term or retire ?
IF one has 400k house he can choose. He can do what you do. OR he can move to TN or NC or similar places. OR he can rent his house for 2K a month, and travel like you do. Making 6% after tax on dividends year after year is possible but not guaranteed. Plus- up to what age can one travel like this ? Will he be able to move/live back in the US some day when he gets old ? And, 24K might be fine today, but with inflation, it won't be enough very soon.
Hi, am a 56 year old woman that wants to retire there in the next year. Are you someone that could help me get the right area? I will pay you for your time. Thankyou, Jill
Living a good, healthy lifestyle free from financial stress, all while exploring and experiencing a fascinating culture. Good job! Add social security and now you have an even greater buffer. Invest properly and that 400K can grow to more than beat inflation, while you're still under budget and can fly to the islands twice a year.
I worked with @retireandgo, he never lived a lavish life style nor dressed flashy, lot of our coworkers never listened to him, and theyll be working till their dead
This was a really good video. Simple good production appreciate your attitude in it. It helped me out a lot.❤
great info! thanks! why did you chose Chiang Mai over beach towns which seem to be more popular for retirees?
Good video. You don't look like you are retirement age. Good for you! 🙂
What are your thoughts on the fairly new ultra high yield dividend funds that pay weekly, YMAX & Qdte, ect ?
