Chiang Mai’s Most Popular Expat Area (Live Here?)

Join me on a deep dive into Hang Dong, Chiang Mai! We’re exploring the hidden backstreets, finding a delicious vegan restaurant (40 baht meals!), and checking out a Muay Thai gym with visa services! πŸ₯Š

We then head to the famous Kad Farang village, a popular expat hangout with trendy shops, Mexican food, and a bustling local market. See why Hang Dong is considered the “Mecca area” for expats and couples looking for a relaxed lifestyle.

Experience the vibrant Wednesday night market at Kad Farang – a feast for the senses with street food, unique finds, and a lively atmosphere. Then, we journey to the Hang Dong town night market, a daily hub of activity where you can find everything from cheap eats (20 baht noodles!) to fresh produce.

  1. Expatriés 🀣🀣🀣🀣
Encore un blanc de France qui n'a.pas compris qu'il Γ©tait un immigrΓ© !

Nan l'immigration c'est que pour les noirs les blancs sont expats 🀑🀑

  2. Thanks, mate! It was Docs for me πŸ˜‰ I noticed the street at the start of the vid looked a little like the ones in your Saraphi vids. Is it further on from Hang Dong? Been talking to Ya about going to stay at her Nowhere ArtStay!

  3. Hi Wayne
Been to Chiang Mai from Australia 4 times since covid. Next visit we are looking for something different away from the Old City and Nimman. Got a place booked at Odyssey at 41 Viangbua Road, T. Chang Puek, A. Muang, Chang Phueak, 50300 Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Is this a decent local place? Or shall we look elsewhere?
    Cheers Simon

  4. Another Bobby dazzler
Thanks mate for taking us around all these adventures
It’s the next best thing for all those unable to go or reminisce
    Keep em coming πŸ™

  5. Guess it depends on your reason for living in Thailand. Culture? Vibe? Or cost of living and live among westerners?
I have preferred the vibe and culture but need some western influence for things like clothing, banking..etc. I wouldn't like a full western neighborhood. Would you Wayne?

  6. Nice to see a different area I must explore Wayne and teasing with so much food. Unfortunately I've had a bad start to this visit 2nd ever food poisoning here in 10yrs really knocked me down!! Just about getting right to start my trip properly

  7. Wow Hang Dong has a lot going on. Busy spot and the market is bustling. Lots of yummy food, you would want to sample it all
I can understand why the expats would congregate around that area it's got everything there on your doorstep.
Thanks for sharing Wayne. Stay safe πŸ™ mate

  8. I'm still a fan of Timberland, had the tan boots too in the 90's. They still make great stuff but I don't shop much anymore. Wow, so much great looking food, that would be a draw for me, but one meal a day now, have to go at night. 🀣 Love the vids keep up the great work man, appreciate it.

  9. Camera held up great at night, on a 1080 screen at least. 4k isn't all that for me, i used to watch films on vhs that had been recorded over 4000 times because my old man kept the same 10 for about a decade πŸ˜†

  10. Nice one Wayne. This one will give my mate a few tips and another option should he decide to spend more time in Thailand up north. Useful information. Cheers mate. 🀩

  11. Thanks! Very nice video, I didn't know about Hang Dong. A little far from the center of Chiang Mai for my taste. I would guess that is much cheaper than Niman?
