It’s my first day back in Chiang Ma and I’m getting straight down to business with two unbelievable Thai food stops today.

We started just around the corner from Chiang Mai International Airport at a 20 year old street food stall selling homemade Chiang Mai sausage (Sai Ua) and everyone’s favourite Thai breakfast snack, moo ping!

My second food stop was at an epic Khao Soi joint Called Kanom Jeen Pa Pom ขนมจีน ป้าป้อม where I tried the famous Chiang Mai curry noodles and an awesome version of Khanom Jeen Nam Ngiao (tomato based pork noodles)

My name’s Gary and I’ve been living in Bangkok for the past five plus years and travelling Thailand for over ten. I’m obsessed with Thai street food and it’s that obsession that led me to start this YouTube channel. I want to share my favourite hidden spots in Bangkok and the rest of Thailand so you can fall in love with authentic, local Thai food as much as I have!

If you love seeing off the beaten path, non-touristy, local life and authentic local life in Bangkok and Thailand then this is the channel for you. If go go bars on the Sukhumvit Road are more your thing (I’m not judging) then maybe not!

  1. I'm glad you went to that auntie's place instead of the now too famous Khao Soi places. Darn; I've been down that street but I don't quite recall. Here you go folks because you could spend the day wandering around looking for a "quiet little alley, just off the south side of Chiang Mai gate." https://www.google.com/maps/place/Kanom+Jeen+Pa+Pom/@18.7830659,98.9862187,21z/data=!4m6!3m5!1s0x30da3b34ef7e4d59:0xc521b7fb522d0d4c!8m2!3d18.7830659!4d98.9863555!16s%2Fg%2F11g_qqm54h?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI0MTIxMS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D

  3. Wow dude! Ahahn chiang mai aroy tee sut! Sai uua le nam prik num ! But did they sai chu lot?! Haha. I stopped the video to comment. Loving the video. Yak (k)gin moo ping and sticky rice. Let’s see what else you find and share with us. One of my favorites is – I think it is the steamed and herb encrusted , I think buffalo maybe cow , wrapped in the banana leaf. I’ve forgotten. Made by the neighbor. Old food north of chiang mai in chai prakan Sawadeekap and kapkhunkap

  4. This pork grilled vendor may be a non-commissioned officer in the Royal Thai Army who uses his free time before or after work to help his family earn extra income in addition to his regular salary from the Army 🍖🍖🍖🍖🍖

  6. I love northern Thai food like Sai-Ua as well. I've always thought they tasted like Tod Mun, I mean they probably use a lot of the same spice but Tod Mun is fried and made from fish. I also like khao Soi but Khanom Chine Nam Ngiow is definitely my favorite!, so lite and tangy and rich. great video Gary😄
