  1. My only 2 cents as a regular traveler to Chiang-Mai is that if you're thinking, "Ill book my family holday in a hotel Thapae!" Be aware that you're very close to the red light district (on Loi Kroh Rd) at night.
Not here to judge – just inform!

  2. This year, I'll be wrapping up a 3-month stay in Thailand with 2 weeks in Chiang Mai.

My fourth trip to Thailand, but first time in Chiang Mai. Previously, my visits to Thailand have been in the south.

I've already booked some reservations in and around the Old City. But am also interested in taking some trips out of the city to experience more traditional culture and scenery. I was thinking in the north, but am open to suggestion.

Also, since it's my first visit and am only there a short time, I'm considering going on one of the "tour" services — something which I'd not normally do.
    Any suggestions in this regard?

  3. There are some nice local restaurants on the small soi's off Loh Kroh road….one of the best is about half way down, turn right on Soi 1, walk past the Number one bar and past the scooter hire shop to a small restaurant on the left called 'Aum and Camrons' ….excellent thai food and reasonably priced beer….a lot of the bar girls from Loh Kroh eat here and take aways are constantly leaving the shop via Grab….

  4. Chiang Mai is my favorite place in Thailand. My son and I were there in December of 2023. we both loved Chiang Mai, and the people. We are planning to make another trip. AWESOME!!!
