If you feel their are too many foreigners, just take the short trip to Lamphun or Chiang Rai,
I personally live and work in Phrae but Phrae is probably too small for many tourists,
Blows my mind that someone canโt find vegan food. Chiang Mai is known for being a vegan paradise!!
Chiang Mai is very boring when you were severel times in Thailand and you dont want to do the typicall tourist things.
You have the info that the air quality is horrid….and still visit and live there….human beings are still much too ignorant and plainly stupid to be giving anyone else advice….
If breathing some of the world's most polluted air is fine with you, enjoy….๐
I enjoyed your video. We visited recently and I have mixed feelings about Chiang Mai. Thanks so much for sharing.
Chiang mai is a place i wanted to really like but it just did not really give me that feeling of wow im into this place .. I love Bangkok and the Thai people are so lovely but i was actually so disappointed ..maybe it was me as i had heard so many positive reviews ..
I am currently in Chiang Mai, I am also digital nomad and will be staying for 2 months, I mostly prefer Saigon, Vietnam as I have stayed there lot of time, but I really liked Chiang mai, it is bit peaceful then compared to Bangkok.
I live in Chiang Mai 4 months of the year and was interested to hear peoples views. You spennt too long on the first person, got bored of the video and left. Also need more B Roll, showing the same street to many times.
Little Bangkokโฆ
what a bunch of trash digital nomads and expats you've interviewed, their opinion doesn't have value
I don't think i can get the same vibes of Chiang Mai โคanywhere else in Thailand๐น๐ญโค last South African๐ฟ๐ฆ guy was good, nice intelligent man, nice episodeโค chai.
The whole concept of calling a city in another country "overhyped" or "underhyped" is kind of disgusting in my opinion. It doesn't exist for your amusement. It's a place where people were born, live and work. Why not ask any locals what they think?
Maybe I wasnโt in Chiang Mai long enough to experience what others were saying about its โinauthenticityโ. That being said, I do wonder how Chiang Mai looked like 10 years ago. That would have been amazing ๐ป I do admit I didnโt appreciate the Nimman area too much and much prefer my area near the MD Boutique Hotel which is in the Old City but also near Chiang Moi/Warorot.
Terrible video .!!! Chaing Mai Beautiful
Thumbs up ๐ Champ
Iโve live in CM six months of the year for the last four years and visited for a month since 2007. You wonโt find a coffee shop or cafe without a foreigner on laptop in the corner, particularly if the WiFi is good. If you want to โLiveโ in Thailand, you canโt beat CM, but you have to get out during the burn season. Thatโs ok, lots of beach destinations near by, Vietnam, Phuket, Krabi, Pattaya, easy living. Just bought our second house in San Saran. Itโs great ๐
In Chiangmai now for Songkran. Good times, and the smoke isnt bad this year. I love the locals here.
Why not ask the people who live there? A person who visits tourist spots for a week has no clue.
In past years I only passed through Chiang Mai on my way to Pai an didnโt think much of it. This year I got an apartment in CM away from Old Town and just chilled out for a couple months. Really enjoyed it!
Lived there 12 years but last year left. Slowly it has turned from a very nicecity to live into a poluted city. Air poluted during months as well as poluted with too many foreign รฏdiots. The good days are over for Chiang Mai.
Thanks nice vlog ๐
Thank you very much welcome to Thailand I come from Thailand
First in 2019 as a tourist, I liked it to explore all the temples, night markets etc. When I returned in 2023 and remotely working I found it rather boring and overrun/crowded. Just didn't click with me. Not interested in pagodas anymore. Many foreigners, didn't really connected with any but to be fair only stayed a month. Seemed like though you either have drunk backpackers, hippies or wannabe life coaches. Dating is also not good over there.
Nice content! Thanks! I was wondering, what kind of camera are you using to do these interviews that you hold in your hand while doing these interviews?
The only thing you need to know is the worst air quality you can imagine. Living in CM for years you sure develop GOPD, a chronical respiratory disease
Thoilend? What's the meaning of it? Never heard about Thoilend, maybe you are in the wrong country?
Over touristy..too many tourists..
Many years passed, ChiangMai lost its essences and blend with new culture by outsider's business which invest here. In contrast Chiangmai rank in the top "Averarge Lowest salary in Thailand" It means many business here has nothing to benefit the local people. Now ChiangMai suffers from "Foreign invasion" and "migration" especially "Chiness business invasion" with "zero dollar traveling" and some "Gray Chinese" do "money laundering" with "low price" product/service cause the destruction on local economy/ecosystem.
Everything she loves about Ubud is exactly everything i dislike ๐
I thought there was a massive vegan food scene in Chiang Mai…
Bedankt voor jou video in chiang mai.
Groetjes uit belgie. ๐
Yep …
Hello again sorry for not commenting for a long time ๐ there is an earthquake in Myanmar ๐
I've only been to Chang Mai once. One month after the big food last year..We flew up from Phuket to visit family. It wasn't my favorite place. It gave me a hipster, Instagram young backpacker vibe to the area.. All of Thailand is beautiful but not my favorite.
Thanks
Good job my mum is interviewed at 12 minutes .. miss chiangmai be back soon
Air pollution seems to be a problem all over Thailand, and you don't seem to escape it even in Chiang Mai. Gentrification is also well underway.
That Portuguese lady you interviewed was beautiful. Do you have her cell number?
I was surprised to find how bad pollution was there .. May as well live in Bangkok
There are so many foreigners in ChM that I no longer feel as though I am in Thailand. After two or three trips there, I have never returned.
You shouldโve told Anna from Portugal about Thai vegetarian cuisine
Thereโs an entire vegetarian Thai cuisine and itโs pretty much vegan and itโs aroy mak as fuck
My time in Chiang mai was the best in my life.
